How long does installation take?

A single-unit installation is normally completed by our team in one day. We arrive in the morning, install the indoor and outdoor units, run the connecting pipework, commission the system and show you how to use it before we leave.

Do I need planning permission?

For most London homes the outdoor unit falls under permitted development and does not need a planning application. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas can be different. If your property needs a planning consent, we tell you before you commit.

Is it noisy?

The indoor unit runs at a quiet hum on normal settings — quieter than a fridge. The outdoor unit is a low steady sound rather than a rattle. We position both units to keep sound to a minimum inside and at your neighbour's boundary.

What will it cost to run?

Accepted Answer

Running cost depends on your electricity tariff, how warm or cool you set the room and how well insulated it is. Because the system moves heat rather than burning fuel it uses less electricity than a plug-in heater for the same warmth. We are happy to talk through realistic expectations for your home — we do not publish savings claims we cannot evidence.

What happens on survey day?

There is no survey day in the old sense. The survey is done from photos and a short video you upload from your phone. If we need anything else to confirm the quote we will ask by email or phone before installation is booked.

Question 6

What warranty do I get?

Accepted Answer

You get the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment plus a written workmanship warranty from Hulubre on our installation. Full terms are set out in the written quote and contract.

Question 7

What if my property is not suitable?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes a property is not a good fit — for example if there is nowhere sensible to place the outdoor unit, or if the electrical supply needs upgrading first. If that is the case we will tell you clearly and we will not take payment for an installation we cannot properly deliver.

Question 8

Do you service the system afterwards?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can return to service the system and check refrigerant, filters and drainage. Service visits are booked separately from the installation.

Question 9

Are you F-Gas qualified?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Installation involves refrigerant, which by law must be handled by F-Gas qualified engineers. Every Hulubre install is completed by our F-Gas qualified installation team.

Question 10

Does it really work in winter?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The systems we fit are specified to keep providing useful heat well below freezing outdoor temperatures. In a typical London winter you can heat your room fully from the same unit that cools you in July.

Can I have units in more than one room?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Multi-room installations are possible using either separate systems or a single outdoor unit that feeds two or more indoor units. Ask for a multi-room quote when you upload your survey.

Can I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As a consumer buying at home you have statutory cancellation rights, which we set out in full in the written quote and contract before you pay anything.
